My Second Rhino project is an open air park for gathering. I was given a kit of parts to design this, including a set of pools, pillars, walls, and a monolith. This park is designed with gathering and accessibility in mind. This park features ample open space as well as a canopy and a monolith. Both the canopy and monolith are designed to create mesmerizing shadows. This design features ample seating as well as a ramp, instead of a conventional staircase for the sake of accessibility. The seating in this design is meant to have flow with the other aspects instead of contrasting against it. With this noted, the bench seating is long and narrow with minimal hostile design features, as these hostile features typically seen in outdoor design areas are bad for accessibility and destroy the flow of a space, creating a mental and physical unease.
